Dabbling in production since the early 2000's, Fong started out as a production assistant working on local Malaysian and international feature films. Two years later, he ventured into the technical aspect of film-making -- focusing on grip and lighting, and worked on commercials for internationals brands such as Lexus, Coca Cola, McDonalds and Loreal.

Having learned the ins and outs of film-making for almost a decade, he decided to chase his dreams of being a cinematographer. In 2015, he was given the chance to shoot his first project -- a music video. From then on, he has moved on to bigger and better opportunities, with commercials for names such as Taylor's University Malaysia, Kose, Dairy Champ, Tourism Selangor and Facebook Malaysia, just to name a few.

In 2017, he worked on a short film, "Gold, There's Gold in the River", which was a finalist in the Malaysian BMW Shorties Short Film Competition 2017. He was nominated for best cinematographer.

The art of cinematography is a constant learning process, and Fong aims to continue honing his craft in this department. He is currently also a Gimbal operator; and hopes to continue making a name for himself as a Malaysian cinematographer.
